I’m building Pitstop Club because I love machines, not because I want to trade your data. Here is exactly what's happening under the hood:
The 4-Hour Radius: We only store your most recent location when you're active. We don't keep "breadcrumbs" or a history of your routes. If you haven't opened the app in 4 hours, you automatically vanish from the Radius.
Fuzzy Proximity: We never show your exact coordinates. We "bucket" distances (e.g., < 2km) and randomize the order of users in the Radius so no one can pinpoint your home or garage.
Plate Numbers & Masking: The plate is the unique ID for the vehicle. We store it to keep "Garages" unique, but we use "UI-Masking" on all public feeds and shareable cards to protect your identity in the wild.
Vehicle History & Provenance: We store a timeline of when a vehicle (by plate) is added to or removed from a garage. This "Registry" stays with the machine even if ownership changes.
Service Logs & Private Notes: Your modifications and logs are stored to build your "Hardware Manifest." Notes for Self are strictly private and visible only to you.
Public Data: Your discussions on vehicles, gears or plans are visible to everyone who can visit it. So, please dont share something personal and be considerate.
Social Resets: You have the power to wipe your "Nods" and social history (The "Social Reset"). This clears your social interactions but does not erase the machine’s entry/exit logs from the Registry.
DPDP Compliance: I am the "Data Fiduciary." I use your info only to make the app work. I don't share it with third parties, except for my core stack (Supabase and Vercel).
Leaving the Club: If you want your data wiped, you can delete your account or email me. I’ll clear your rows from the database, no strings attached.
